No Fuss Baked Beans

I love baked beans, but when I am grilling out, I like to spend more time enjoying being outside and less time in the kitchen, so this recipe is great for doing just that!

I don't like slimy bacon that has been baked on top of the beans, so I opt for frying the bacon separately and throwing it on top after they are cooked.  If you prefer the other method, go for it!

This recipe uses Bush's Baked Beans and I add a few more ingredients to them prior to baking to take them up a few notches.  My family loves these and they are super easy!

2 cans Bush's Baked Beans

1/4 cup brown sugar

1 heaping tablespoon molasses

1 small onion chopped

2 teaspoons yellow mustard

6 slices of bacon

Combine the beans, brown sugar, onions, mustard, and molasses and mix well.

Pour into a baking dish that has been sprayed with non-stick spray.

Bake on 350 degrees until bubbly.

These may also be cooked inside the microwave for 10-12 minutes.  Just cover them with plastic wrap prior to cooking.  Don't burn yourself when you remove them from the microwave.  Let them rest a while before removing the wrap.

Sprinkle cooked bacon over the top prior to serving.
